SEWARD, Neb. – The Concordia University Baseball program has unveiled its 2022 schedule, as announced on Wednesday (Nov. 10). Head Coach Ryan Dupic’s Bulldogs will make their first public appearance since the 2021 NAIA World Series when they head to Baker University (Kan.) for a season opening doubleheader on Feb. 12. As it stands, Concordia will play a 50-game regular season slate, featuring 28 GPAC games (14 doubleheaders) and 22 nonconference contests.

In the 2022 NAIA preseason poll released on Nov. 3, the Bulldogs landed at No. 18. They are also the preseason favorite in the GPAC. Under Dupic, the program has won a combined four GPAC championships (three regular season, one postseason) and has reached the national tournament three times. The ’21 squad set new program standards by winning 42 games, advancing to the NAIA World Series and rising to No. 12 in the final NAIA coaches’ poll.

For a change of pace, Concordia will spend the 2022 spring break in Florida, where it will play 10 games between March 5-12. Specific opponents and game times have not yet been finalized. The nonconference schedule also includes four-game road series at Baker and at College of the Ozarks (Mo.) and a two-day stay in Joplin, Mo. The Bulldogs are set to play at home for the first time on March 19 with Dakota Wesleyan coming to town. On April 15, Concordia will host Doane, a rival it shared the GPAC regular season title with this past season.

Pod play at the GPAC tournament will run May 5-7 at the home sites of the top two seeds in the final conference standings. The GPAC tournament championship game is slated for May 10. Dates for the NAIA Baseball National Championship are May 16-19 for the opening round and May 27-June 3 for the World Series. Lewiston, Idaho, will again serve as the location for the NAIA World Series.
