Year five of Max Country broadcasts complete

SEWARD, Neb. – The broadcast schedule for 2019-20 Concordia University athletics on 104.9 Max Country is complete. The final Bulldog Coaches Show of the athletic year aired on May 28. For the final eight coaches shows, host and KRVN Program Director Tyler Cavalli was joined by Director of Athletics Devin Smith to discuss a variety of topics. They began the newly formatted series of shows by detailing the coronavirus shutdown of athletics while providing hope for what 2020-21 will look like.

Due to the pandemic, the final athletic event aired on Max Country was the men’s basketball national tournament game on March 12. The Bulldog Coaches Show will return in August with regular appearances from Concordia head coaches.

The 2019-20 academic year marked the fifth year of partnership between Concordia Athletics and 104.9 Max Country, which operates out of York, Neb. Max Country is the home for live play-by-play broadcasts of football, volleyball and men’s and women’s basketball. Cavalli has been the voice of football and men’s and women’s basketball while Frank Greene (former softball coach) has called volleyball action. Evan Jones, Sports/News Director at Max Country, has also worked Concordia games. Jones has recently interviewed several Bulldog coaches. Those interviews can be heard via the link provided.
