SEWARD, Neb. – Concordia athletics invites all students, faculty, staff, community members and Bulldog fans to attend Tuesday’s (Jan. 24) Basketball Madness pep rally that will be held inside Walz Arena. As a kick start to CIT weekend, the rally will take place from 9:30 to 10 p.m. A highlight of the event will be the finals of the Bulldog 3-Point Challenge (top four from the preliminary round).

The winner of the 3-point contest will receive $100 cash. Someone in the audience will also be chosen to shoot a half-court shot with a chance at winning a TV. In addition, the first 200 students will be given free T-shirts. Other games will take place and additional prizes will be given away. The “Interlude” dance will be demonstrated by the Concordia women’s basketball team. The event will be led by Bulldog women’s basketball coach Drew Olson.

The preliminary round of the Bulldog 3-Point Challenge will be staged inside Walz Arena from 9-10 p.m. on Sunday (Jan. 22). Contestants must participate on Sunday for a chance to make the finals on Tuesday.

The event will lead into a big week of home basketball on campus. Both Bulldog hoops teams host Hastings on Wednesday (6 and 8 p.m.) prior to looking forward to the 66th annual Concordia Invitational Tournament. Walz first hosted CIT in 2013. Both Bulldog programs have won 26 CIT titles all-time.
