SEWARD, Neb. – For their performances throughout the month of March, Camry Moore (softball), Josie Puelz (track & field) and Noah Schutte (track & field) have been selected as the Bulldog Athletic Association Member (BAAM) Athletes of the Month for March 2022. Moore, Puelz and Schutte were winners of a vote conducted on Tuesday (April 12) at the BAAM luncheon. Moore and Puelz got the same number of votes for Female Athlete of the Month. The men’s basketball program has been responsible for five-straight BAAM men’s athlete of the month awards while the track & field program has raked in four BAAM women’s athlete of the month honors in a row.

Moore has been on a tear in her final season on the softball diamond. During the month of March, the Crete High School product shined in the circle, going 5-5 with a 1.56 ERA and 51 strikeouts. She walked only one batter in 54 innings throughout the month. Back on March 4, Moore fired a no-hitter against Graceland University and was then named the GPAC Pitcher of the Week. With the bat, Moore hit .458 (22-for-48) during March with four doubles, two triples, 14 RBIs, a .519 on-base percentage and a .625 slugging percentage over 18 games. In the circle, Moore owns a 12-8 record to go along with a 1.45 ERA and 108 strikeouts in 121 innings. She has issued only six walks all season.

A native of Lincoln, Neb., Puelz defended her previous pole vault national titles early in the month of March when she cleared 13’ 5 ¼” at the 2022 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships. That vault broke her own school indoor record and allowed her to claim her third career pole vault national title. Puelz is one of three female athletes in program history to collect at least three individual national championships. This past indoor season, Puelz also won the GPAC pole vault title and was rewarded with the GPAC Female Field Performance of the Meet for her meet record-breaking performance. She helped the Bulldogs win the GPAC indoor team championship and place third at nationals. Currently, Puelz is the 2022 NAIA outdoor national leader in the pole vault.

Schutte turned his game up a notch in March as the Concordia Men’s Basketball team began the month by winning the GPAC tournament title and then advanced to the quarterfinals of the NAIA Men’s Basketball National Championship. In five March games, Schutte averaged 20.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game while shooting 64.2 percent (34-for-53) from the floor, 70.0 percent (7-for-10) from 3-point range and 81.8 percent (27-for-33) from the foul line. For his stellar work on the national stage, Schutte was named to the NAIA Men’s Basketball National Championship All-Tournament Team. Schutte notched 24 points and 12 rebounds in the national round of 16 victory over Indiana University Kokomo. For the season, Schutte averaged 13.9 points and 6.2 rebounds.
