SEWARD, Neb. – In the second year of partnership between Concordia University athletics and 104.9 Max Country (KTMX-FM), a total of 71 Bulldog 2016-17 regular-season athletic contests are scheduled to air on the York-based radio station. Once again, Max Country will serve as the radio home to Concordia football, men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball. The two entities first announced their collaboration in conjunction with the 2015 Bulldog Golf Classic.

By popular demand, The Bulldog Coaches Show also returns this year. The 30-minute weekly program will air on Thursdays at 6 p.m. on 104.9 Max Country with Tyler Cavalli serving as host. Every head coach will be heard throughout the year over the course of the 39 coaches shows on the docket for 2016-17. The weekly coaches’ show will continue throughout the spring season.

Said Director of Athletics Devin Smith in a statement, “We are grateful and extremely appreciative to begin our second-consecutive year of partnering with KTMX MAX Country 104.9 FM. Concordia Athletics’ radio partnership allows the Bulldog brand to thrive both regionally and globally while connecting our shareholders with the finest student-athletes in the NAIA. What a truly amazing opportunity this is as the Bulldogs team with Tim Marshall, Brad Leggett, Jayson Jorgenson and Tyler Cavalli whom are the brightest and most talented sports production and broadcast crews around.”

Jorgensen, Sports Director for KRVN Rural Radio, will again handle play-by-play duties for Concordia football. He will be joined in the booth by color commentator Tyler Cavalli, who replaces Matt Harab at Max Country. Cavalli will also call the action for Bulldog men’s and women’s basketball. Frank Greene, former Concordia head softball coach, returns as play-by-play voice for Bulldog volleyball. Said Leggett, “Max Country is excited for our second season serving Concordia University and its athletic department. The addition of Tyler Cavalli to our announcing team is a big win for us and fans of Concordia. Tyler brings a wealth of experience and a real passion for sports to our broadcast team.”

All 10 varsity football games, more than 20 men’s and 20 women’s basketball games and nearly 20 volleyball matches are part of the regular-season broadcast schedule. The broadcast number will grow should Concordia teams advance to postseason play.

The Concordia Sports Network will continue to provide free live video webcasts that can be accessed via cune.edu/csn for the bulk of varsity home events. CSN will incorporate the audio feed from 104.9 Max Country into its webcasts for football, men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball. Max Country’s Concordia broadcasts will include pregame, halftime/intermission and postgame coverage in addition to live descriptions of the action.
