SEWARD, Neb. – On Monday (Aug. 1) the conference office announced Concordia as winner of the 2014-15 GPAC-Christopherson All-Academic Award. Concordia, which has now led the conference in NAIA Scholar-Athletes for five years running, also captured the Christopherson Award for the 2013-14 academic year.

The Christopherson All-Academic Award goes to the GPAC institution that boasts the highest combined grade point average among all of its student-athletes. The award, which began in 2005-06, is named in honor of former Dana College President Dr. Myrvin Christopherson’s faithful and long-term service to student-athletes in the GPAC. Dr. Christopherson retired following the 2004-05 academic year after 19 years of dedicated leadership at Dana.

In addition, Concordia shared the national lead for total 2015-16 NAIA Scholar-Teams with Olivet Nazarene (Ill.). Concordia qualified all 20 eligible varsity teams for NAIA Scholar-Team status. The Bulldogs led the GPAC with 92 NAIA Scholar-Athletes and continue to lead the nation in all-time NAIA Scholar-Athletes with 1,206.
