
SEWARD, Neb. – The athletic training staff at Concordia University, Nebraska has grown to five full-time members. The athletic department has announced the hirings of Alexis Fosmer and Daylon Yount as the newest Bulldogs. Both Fosmer and Yount have begun serving roles with the title of Assistant Athletic Trainer.
Concordia’s AT staff also includes Randy Baack, Shelby Svatora and David Chouinard. The expansion of the athletic training staff is an investment in Concordia’s more than 700 student-athletes.
Says Fosmer, “I am extremely excited to serve the student athletes at Concordia Nebraska and be included in a Christ centered community.”
Stated Yount, “I am excited be here at Concordia University and have the opportunity to work with the student-athletes, staff and communities on campus and in Seward.”
A native of Highland, Mich., Fosmer has returned to Nebraska, home to her alma mater, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Most recently, Fosmer served as Head Athletic Trainer for the baseball and volleyball programs and as Assistant Athletic Trainer for the football program at Abilene Christian University (Texas) from 2023-25. She also worked as Associate Athletic Trainer for the Carolina Mudcats of the Milwaukee Brewers organization in 2025.
Fosmer graduated from Nebraska with her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Alexis is the daughter of Dan and Kristine Fosmer and has a brother Nathan.
Yount is a graduate of GPAC member Dakota Wesleyan University and a native of Kerman, Calif. Prior to joining the Bulldogs, Yount worked as a student athletic trainer at Dakota Wesleyan with the men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball and football teams. He then served as a student athletic trainer for baseball at the University of Missouri.
Yount played baseball at both York College and Dakota Wesleyan. He graduated from DWU with his Master’s in Athletic Training. Daylon is the son of Jason and Lesa Yount and has a sister Peyton.
Head Athletic Trainer since 2002, Baack stated, “We always strive to provide excellent health care to all CUNE Student-Athletes. The addition of Lex & Daylon will help us to be more available for our athletes in and out of season. We are excited to have Lex & Daylon join the Bulldog Athletic Training staff.”
