
SEWARD, Neb. – For their performances throughout the calendar month, standout seniors Carson Fehlhafer (football) and Katie Welker (shooting sports) have been chosen as the Bulldog Athletics Association Member Athletes (BAAM) of the Month for September 2025. The winners emerged from a vote conducted on Tuesday (Oct. 7) among attendees at the BAAM luncheon. BAAM luncheons are held every Tuesday (when classes are in session) at 12 p.m. CT inside the Dog House Grill.
A native of Utica, Neb., Fehlhafer put together a monster first month of the 2025 Concordia Football season. Over three games in September, Fehlhafer totaled 20 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks and two blocked kicks. He was named GPAC Defensive Player of the Week and NAIA National Player of the Week on Sept. 15. Those honors followed the 27-22 win over Dakota Wesleyan that saw Fehlhafer pile up seven tackles for loss and four sacks. Entering this week’s homecoming matchup with Midland, Fehlhafer leads all GPAC players in tackles for loss (12) and sacks (6.5) this season. In his college career, Fehlhafer has amassed 108 tackles, 27.5 stops for loss and 16 sacks. He was named a First Team All-GPAC selection in 2024. Fehlhafer is studying Business Administration. With Fehlhafer anchoring the defense, the Bulldogs are 4-0 and ranked No. 17 in the NAIA coaches’ poll.
A past All-American, Welker (Hamill, S.D.) has raised her game during the fall semester of her senior year. At the most significant event so far this fall for Concordia Shooting Sports, the Prairie Circuit Conference Championships, Welker placed as the women’s high overall (HOA) runner up by busting 462/500 targets. Welker also emerged as the conference runner up in sporting clays. As a result, she was named to the Prairie Circuit All-Conference team. In other highlights this season, Welker cracked 89 targets in sporting for the highest score among females at the Simpson Invite and earned HOA medalist honors (279/300) among women at the Midland Invite. At the team’s most recent outing, the Hastings Invite, Welker shot a perfect 100 in trap. Welker qualified for nationals in each of her first three seasons as a Bulldog. She is majoring in Biology.
