SEWARD, Neb. – As voted upon at Tuesday (Oct. 2)’s Bulldog Athletic Association Member luncheon, juniors Ryan Durdon of the football program and Emmie Noyd of the volleyball program have been named the Bulldog Athletic Association Athletes of the Month of September 2018. Nominees for the monthly award are comprised of the Bulldog Athletic Association Athletes of the Week throughout that month. Recipients of the monthly awards will receive plaques from the athletic department.

Starting with the 2017-18 academic year, the Bulldog Athletic Association began naming male and female athletes of the month. Durdon also earned the BAA monthly award for October 2017.

Durdon, a native of Decatur, Texas, got his 2018 season off to an impressive start with a 250-yard rushing performance in the victory over Buena Vista University (Iowa) on Sept. 8. That effort earned Durdon his second career GPAC Offensive Player of the Week award. He entered the month of October with 440 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 88 carries over the first four games of the 2018 season. Last season Durdon rushed for 1,247 yards (second most in a season in school history) while finding the end zone eight times. He has rushed for at least 200 yards in a game on four occasions in his collegiate career.

A second team All-GPAC honoree in 2017, Noyd has been the most reliable attacking option for a volleyball squad that got out to a 12-0 start this season. Entering the month of October, Noyd has accumulated 169 kills (2.82/set) and 61 blocks (1.0/set) and is hitting a team best .323 this season. She was named the GPAC Attacker of the Week on Sept. 11 on the heels of a career high 23 kills in a win over College of Saint Mary. Noyd has posted at least 10 kills in a match seven times this season. The middle blocker from Shelby, Neb., has notched 504 kills over 243 career sets played.
