
SEWARD, Neb. – Concordia University, Nebraska has been recognized as a Champions of Character® Five-Star Gold Award winner for the 2024-25 academic year. Champions of Character institutions and conferences were announced by the NAIA on July 28. Bulldog Athletics earned a perfect 100 on the Champions of Character scorecard for 2024-25, placing it in the Gold level category.
Institutions are measured on a demonstrated commitment to Champions of Character and earn points in character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition and character promotion. Institutions earned points based on exceptional student-athlete grade point averages and by having minimal to no ejections during competition throughout the course of the academic year.
2024-25 Concordia Athletics Accomplishments:
· 37th in the final NAIA Learfield Cup Standings.
· Placed second in the GPAC All-Sports Standings (top two for the ninth time in 10 years).
· 2024-25 NAIA Champions of Character® Five-Star Gold Award winner.
· 18 Bulldog teams placed within the top four of their respective conference standings.
· GPAC championships won by baseball (regular season) and women’s tennis (postseason).
· Appearances in six GPAC tournament championship games.
· Appearances in 14 separate national championship events.
· 213 NAIA Scholar-Athlete Awards (13 shy of the school record set in 2019-20).
· 66 Academic All-District Award Winners, as selected by College Sports Communicators.
· 11 Academic All-Americans, as selected by College Sports Communicators.
· Nine GPAC Athlete of the Year awards (Iker Casanova, Alex Johnson, Ashley Keck, Jaidan Quinn, Adrianna Rodencal-2, Tristan Smith-2 and Nick Velders).
