2024-25 GPAC All-Sports Trophy Standings

SEWARD, Neb. – In the 2024-25 GPAC All-Sports Standings announced on Monday (May 12), Concordia University, Nebraska Athletics placed second, coming up just short of repeating its reign atop the conference. The department is a five-time GPAC All-Sports Trophy Champion with titles coming in 2002-03, 2004-05, 2014-15, 2021-22 and 2023-24 and appeared poised to claim the trophy in 2019-20 before the COVID-19 shutdown. Concordia Athletics has placed either first or second in the GPAC All-Sports Standings in nine of the past 10 seasons.

Director of Athletics Devin Smith presides over a department that in 2024-25 earned conference titles in the sports of baseball (regular season) and women’s tennis (postseason). Eighteen Bulldog squads placed within the top four in their respective regular season standings. Of the nine GPAC sports that include bracket-style conference tournaments, Concordia teams reached the GPAC final in six of them. Eight Concordia squads placed second in the GPAC over the past academic year. Named National Athletics Director of the Year by NACDA, Smith oversees an athletic administrative office featuring Associate Athletic Director Angela Muller and Assistant Athletic Director Levi Calhoun.

The success at the conference level has extended to the national stage. During the 2024-25 athletic year, Concordia has qualified teams/athletes for national championships in the sports of baseball, men’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country, women’s tennis, men’s indoor and outdoor track & field, women’s indoor and outdoor track & field, volleyball, wrestling, shooting sports, powerlifting and weightlifting. Many of these same teams have been ranked highly in NAIA national polls/ratings.

Individually, Concordia athletes continue to shine a spotlight on the athletic department. Bulldogs who have earned GPAC Athlete/Player of the Year awards in 2024-25 include Iker Casanova (men’s soccer), Alex Johnson (baseball), Ashley Keck (volleyball), Jaidan Quinn (baseball), Adrianna Rodencal (track & field), Tristan Smith (men’s basketball) and Nick Velders (men’s tennis).
