Information for Faculty

  • All courses will be delivered exclusively online beginning Monday, March 23 through the remainder of the spring term.
  • Outside of your altered course instruction, all University operations will continue as normal.
  • Please continue working with your students to provide online education options.
  • It is up to each faculty member and their level of comfort to resume meeting with students in their office. We encourage you to utilize video conferencing, phone and email when available.
  • If you or a member of your household falls into one of the high-risk groups as identified by the CDC, such that you may be advised by a health authority not to come to work, please let Human Resources know.
  • If you are on campus and feel sick, please return home immediately.
  • Faculty and staff are encouraged to practice social distancing and cough etiquette, as well as follow CDC recommendations for handwashing and the use of disinfectant on frequently touched surfaces.
  • Concordia also provides full-time faculty and staff with helpful benefits, such as TeleDoc for non-emergency medical care.
  • Non-essential travel is canceled. Other work-related travel should be cleared by your cabinet member.
  • Faculty who are not able to come into work may use your Family Medical Leave time.
  • At this time, there will be no student employment on campus. Essential student labor may continue via remote work, with exact details to be determined soon.
  • We will follow the CDC guidelines that all events with more than 10 people in attendance should be canceled. The exact details of Concordia-sponsored events will be coordinated individually.

What resources are available to help me transition my course online?

Please speak with your dean or department chair for further instructions. The Classroom Innovation & Online Education department is available to answer any questions regarding online instruction and technology training and can offer support for many areas to help you maximize your online classes. How are professors who are not technically advanced adapting to online delivery?

If my child’s school closes, will I have to use PTO?

Please speak with your supervisor regarding this option. Concordia will work to make each situation successful. 

I have a compromised immune system. Should I come to work?

What if I feel ill while I’m at work?
