Once the emotions of senior day wore off, the fourth-ranked Concordia Volleyball team returned to form and defeated visiting Morningside in four sets. Six seniors were honored prior to first serve.

Eighteen Bulldogs saw action and Maddie Paulsen returned to the court for the first time in 2024 as the fourth-ranked Bulldogs defeated Briar Cliff in straight sets on Friday (Oct. 11).

A pair of upperclassmen standouts from the Concordia Volleyball team have been recognized with GPAC Player of the Week awards. Honors went to Becca Gebhardt and Ashley Keck following two GPAC road wins.

The fourth-ranked Bulldogs traveled to Waldorf on Friday (Oct. 4) and dominated the first and third sets while also winning a drawn-out second set battle. Gabi Nordaker starred with 13 kills and six blocks in the victory.

Coming off the five-set battle with No. 1 Northwestern, the fourth-ranked Bulldogs now gear up for their lengthiest road trip of the conference season. Concordia will be at Waldorf and Dakota Wesleyan this weekend.

In a showdown that took place in front of a frenzied Friedrich Arena crowd, the fourth-ranked Bulldogs went toe-to-toe with No. 1 Northwestern. In the end, the Red Raiders outlasted Concordia in five sets.

For the second time this season, No. 4 Concordia will take on a team ranked No. 1. The anticipated matchup with Northwestern is scheduled to get underway at 4 p.m. CT on homecoming Saturday.

A native of Hickman, Neb., Ben Boldt is returning home to become head volleyball coach at Concordia. His wife Angie has also been named an assistant coach on the staff. Ben and Angie previously coached at Hendrix College.

The Concordia volleyball program entered this fall with high hopes. The team's 15-19 overall record was not what anyone associated with the program had in mind, but the outlook is positive for 2017 and beyond.
The odds said Concordia volleyball had almost no chance of winning when it trailed 24-19 in the third set versus Morningside on Sept. 17. The Bulldogs then rallied for perhaps the greatest comeback in program history.
