




The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that a total of 387 volleyball players have been named 2010 Daktronics-NAIA Volleyball Scholar-Athletes. Concordia placed four on this year’s list.

Concordia University head volleyball coach Rachel Miller has announced the signing of Kayla James. James, a native of Gibbon, Nebraska, joins Amanda Abbott as members of the 2011 recruiting class.

The 2010 Great Plains Athletic Conference Volleyball honors were released on Wednesday. The GPAC All-Conference teams were selected by the league coaches. Concordia’s Chelsea Vaudt is a Second Team selection, while Sloan Brandon and Alexa Hopping are Honorable Mention selections.

Morningside College earned a 3-0 volleyball sweep over Concordia in the opening round of the GPAC Tournament on Saturday evening in Sioux City.

Doane College made quick work of Concordia University with a 3-0 GPAC volleyball sweep on Wednesday evening in Crete. Scores of the match were 25-14, 25-19 and 25-17.

Briar Cliff University spoiled Concordia’s senior day with a 3-0 volleyball win over the Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon in Seward. Scores of the match were 25-23, 25-23 and 26-24.

Concordia University dropped to 11-18 overall and 1-13 in GPAC play with a 3-0 loss to Hastings College on Wednesday evening in Seward. Scores of the match were 25-11, 25-20 and 25-13.
