Track and Field

Essential members of the 2015 national championship team, Cody Boellstorff and Zach Lurz have been named State College Male Co-Athletes of the Year by the Lincoln Journal Star. They own a combined 25 All-America awards.

Sam Liermann and CJ Muller are the fourth and fifth Concordia student-athletes to be named CoSIDA Academic All-Americans in 2016-17. Both athletes represent Concordia track and field.

A fourth full-time coach has been added to head coach Matt Beisel's track and field staff. The Bulldogs welcome Wayne Earney, formerly of the University of Sioux Falls, to the athletic department.

For their efforts this outdoor season, Zach Lurz and Ed McLaughlin have been tabbed national award winners by the USTFCCCA. Both honorees have been recognized in the past for the same accolades.

Fifteen Concordia University track and field athletes combined for a total of 29 All-America performances over the course of the 2017 NAIA indoor and outdoor national championships. The Bulldogs won six individual national titles in 2017.

A trio of Bulldogs from the powerhouse Concordia University track and field programs have been selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for their work in the classroom and in athletics.

For the fifth year in a row, the Concordia women's track and field program is the national leader for number of NAIA Scholar-Athletes. A total of 19 Bulldogs were named 2017 Scholar-Athletes.

Lucas Wiechman came through with Concordia's third individual national title of the weekend, helping the Bulldog men to a fifth-place team finish. Meanwhile, the women placed sixth at the national championship meet.

Thanks to three more All-America claims, including Sam Liermann's shot put title, Concordia will take national leads into the final day of the outdoor championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Cody Boellstorff did it again while leading another big time group of throwers on day one of the 2017 outdoor national championships. The Bulldogs will enter day two with national leads on both sides.
