Prepped at Martin Luther High School (Wis.) for three years and Gulf Breeze High School (Fla.) for one year … coached by Andy Ashenden, Scott Gorden and Jordan Segars … lettered all four years … served as team captain at both high schools … member of two Martin Luther regional championship teams … at Martin Luther, twice named track team MVP and medaled twice at state in the 400 meters … earned track team MVP honors at Gulf Breeze and was a ninth-place state medalist in the 300 hurdles and 13th-place state medalist in the 100 hurdles … competed in cross country for four years and was a varsity basketball starter for one year.
