In highlighting the list of honorees announced on Thursday (May 12), the Concordia Softball team placed outfielder Caitlyn McGarvie on the All-GPAC First team and pitcher Camry Moore on the conference’s second team.
Kylie Shottenkirk continued her postseason tear by going 2-for-2 with a homer on Friday (May 6). Unfortunately, the Bulldogs were on the wrong end of a 4-3 decision while being eliminated from the GPAC tournament.
Due to wet and rainy conditions, the second day of action at the 2022 GPAC Softball Tournament has been pushed to Friday (May 6). Concordia's game with Northwestern will begin at 12 p.m. CT on Friday.
A four-run seventh inning in Wednesday (May 4)'s elimination game at the GPAC tournament kept the 2022 season alive for the Bulldogs. Both Caitlyn McGarvie and Kylie Shottenkirk sizzled at the plate.
As the No. 7 seed in the GPAC tournament bracket, the Bulldogs will be headed to Orange City, Iowa, for pod play on Wednesday and Thursday. Concordia will draw No. 2 seed Northwestern in the opening game of the bracket.
A six-run outburst in the 10th inning paved the way for the Bulldogs to salvage a doubleheader split at Hastings as they closed the regular season on Tuesday (April 26). Caitlyn McGarvie continued her hot hitting, collecting five hits.
The 2022 regular season will conclude on Tuesday for the Bulldogs, who are hoping to put a couple of wins on the board at Hastings and sew up a spot in the GPAC tournament. Grace Boganowski has provided a spark in recent action.
Up against the GPAC's second place team, Concordia played two tight games while coming up on the short end of 7-6 and 10-7 decisions. The Bulldogs are now 21-21 overall (9-11 GPAC) with two games left in the regular season.
Camry Moore and Jerzi Rowe shined in the circle while Grace Boganowski continued her emergence as the Concordia shortstop. It added up on Friday (April 22) to two wins over Briar Cliff as the Bulldogs moved to 9-9 in GPAC play.
As part of the road stretch to close the regular season, the Bulldogs will be at Briar Cliff on Friday and at Mount Marty on Saturday. Concordia has been idle since dropping two games at Morningside on April 12.
