Concordia University, Nebraska Softball enters conference competition versus a tough Morningside and Dakota Wesleyan on the road in the coming days. The Bulldogs will travel to Sioux City, Iowa and Mitchell, S.D. this weekend.

All three phases were instrumental in the final day of the Tucson Invite as the Dawgs finished with two victories over Salve Regina University (R.I), 6-2, and Simpson University (Calif.), 8-3 on Thursday.

Megan Eurich pitched eight strikeouts making way for the Bulldogs to defeat Valley City State, 8-3, in game two on Wednesday. CUNE collected nine hits in each contest but were able to put three more across the final plate versus VCSU.

On the heels of picking up a win and a save on the same day, Megan Eurich was named the GPAC Pitcher of the Week. Eurich has allowed only two runs combined over her past four outings.

The CUNE Softball offense scored 20 runs in 10 innings on its way to run-ruling two opponents on Monday. Jennifer Katz (4-for-5), Hanna Bowers (4-for-6) and Taryn Ganstrom (4-for-5) led the offensive assault.

The hot bat of Hanna Bowers and the pitching of Megan Eurich emerged as major stories on Sunday (March 9) as the Bulldogs defeated William Penn and Franklin & Marshall on their opening day at the Tucson Invite.

Concordia University, Nebraska softball is already 14 games into the season but will play eight more contests during spring break at the Tucson Invitational Sunday-Thursday (March 9-13).

In 2014 then first-year head coach Todd LaVelle guided the Concordia University softball team to its first-ever national tournament appearance. A year later the Bulldogs captured the program’s first-ever win on the national stage.
For the second time in program history, and for the first time since 2007, the Concordia University softball team has earned the distinction of GPAC tournament champion.
