Early turnovers gave Concordia little chance of hanging with No. 3 Morningside on the road. The Mustangs celebrated their homecoming by walloping the Bulldogs, 62-6. Austin Jablonski scored the lone Bulldog touchdown.
The Bulldogs hope last week's win over Briar Cliff will mark a turning point in the 2023 campaign. Concordia will be back on the road this Saturday as it takes on No. 3 Morningside in the 22nd all-time meeting between the two sides.
The combination of big plays offensively and a defense that was active in the backfield lifted the Bulldogs to a 35-23 home win over Briar Cliff on Saturday (Sept. 30). Concordia outgained the Chargers, 478-284.
Following back-to-back defeats, Concordia hopes the electricity of a night atmosphere inside Bulldog Stadium will provide a boost. The Bulldogs will host Briar Cliff Saturday night in the 21st all-time meeting between the two sides.
Mere inches separated Concordia from a first down a potential game-winning touchdown drive in the final seconds of a homecoming Saturday (Sept. 23). However, it was DWU that celebrated a fourth down stop and a 16-12 victory.
After two weeks on the road, Concordia Football returns home this week to host Dakota Wesleyan for homecoming Saturday. The Bulldogs and Tigers will clash for the 24th time in series history. Concordia won last year's matchup, 20-12.
A close first half turned into a lopsided loss as four turnovers doomed the Bulldogs. No. 19 Dordt walked away with a 38-7 victory in Sioux Center, Iowa. The positive for Concordia was the performance of defensive lineman Kyle Sterup.
