At Concordia, Our Promises of a Lutheran Education make us distinct through providing an educational ministry that still has a vital role to play in God’s church and world.
We provide our students a Christ-centered community where guidance is given and grace is offered. It’s a community of inquiry where, understanding that all truth is God’s Truth, topics can be explored, questions asked and ideas exchanged in order to better understand Creation. This community of inquiry allows and enables women and men to discover, pursue and realize the purpose that God is calling them to – as spouses, parents, children, employers, workers, servant volunteers and more. Equipped here, they leave with the wisdom necessary to navigate the demands of this world while being a follower of Christ.
Community. Inquiry. Purpose. Wisdom. These are Our Promises.
Everything Concordia has done since our doors opened has been in keeping with Our Promises. More than 23,000 alumni, equipped here to serve in God’s church and world, are realizing Our Promises again day after day as they serve in the vocations God has called them to. With His favor and by His provisions, tens of thousands more will follow in their footsteps, continuing this legacy of faithful service.
It is through the generous annual gifts of alumni and friends and the faithful gifts for endowments, scholarships and programs provided through estate plans that we are able to deliver Our Promises of a Lutheran Education today and tomorrow.
The Concordia Fund provides nearly $2.5 million annually in current spending for scholarships, academics and operations. These are essential funds which enable Concordia to keep our Christ-centered education affordable and accessible to all who seek it. Combined with the university’s endowment, which has surpassed $51 million, Concordia has important, consistent funding sources that enable us to provide financial aid to every single undergraduate student.
Through gifts to the Concordia Fund and planned gifts, faithful alumni and friends will be Answering The Call to equip men and women, both undergraduates and graduates, to learn, serve and lead in God’s church and world. They will affirm their support of Christ-centered higher education. They will attest to all that a Lutheran education is distinct and needed in today’s world.
