For the Church
Throughout our history, Concordia has had a mission emphasis on equipping our students to serve God and His church. Thanks be to God, we have carried out this mission faithfully, placing thousands of workers in ministries of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, while also preparing professional church workers for other Christian denominations.
Concordia places the most workers in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod each year, which has resulted in nearly 30 percent of the Synod’s roster being Concordia graduates. Whether as Lutheran educators or Directors of Christian Education, pre-seminary students or parish musicians, our commitment to equipping these men and women is resolute. Too often, however, students decide they cannot afford to be a full-time worker in the church. Through gifts to both annual and endowed scholarship funds, alumni and friends can increase the percentage of tuition provided through scholarship aid, reducing the total cost for the student and enabling them to answer God’s call to them.
Opportunities to Witness
Each year, nearly 10% of our undergraduates go on an intentional mission trip, both internationally and domestically. More than half the student body is engaged in service projects throughout the year, clearly demonstrating the love of Christ to their neighbors. These are life-impacting moments and experiences, ones that stay with those who undertake them long after the service has ended. Through gifts for mission and service, alumni and friends can expand the opportunities for all Concordia students to be impacted as they positively impact others.
Will You Answer the Call?
