Part of the Family

It’s pretty easy to feel like you belong and this is where you are supposed to be.

Alayna Kavanaugh is a biology major because she wants to help people. She’s in the pre-physician’s assistant program and the pre-med club, and she hopes to someday save lives and help people using her God-given talents. Along with her major, she has two minors, one in chemistry and one in Spanish. All that studying keeps her plenty busy.

At Concordia, Alayna feels like she’s not just a student; she’s part of a family. “You’re not just a face or a number like at big schools,” she says. “People know who you are and you have more than three friends. It’s pretty easy to feel like you belong and this is where you are supposed to be.”

Not that being part of the Bulldog family means she can slack when it comes to studies, however. “The biology program is difficult,” she admits, “but we all suffer together and help each other out.”
