Sanchez and Donohoue lead the way as Concordia tops York College, 5-1

The Concordia University women’s soccer team cruised to a 5-1 win over York College in the 2010 season opener on Saturday afternoon in Seward.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the third minute of the game.  Jordan Donohoue scored off a crossing pass from Carolyn Chrzan to put Concordia on top.  York College tied the game at 1-1 in the 18th minute on a goal by Adiana Loya. 

Concordia took control of the game from there with three more goals in the first half.  Jamie Sanchez put home her first goal of the day off a corner kick to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead.  Hannah Denk was credited with the assist.  Less than two minutes later, Mallorie Blanck scored to increase the Concordia lead to 3-1.  Donohoue and Sanchez picked up the assists on the goal.  Sanchez scored her second goal of the game in the 31st minute to give the Bulldogs a 4-1 cushion.  Donohoue was credited with her second assist of the game. 

Kaela Geyer scored the fifth goal of the game for Concordia in the 59th minute.  Sanchez and Kelly Ross picked up assists on the final goal of the game.

Head Coach Lisa White was impressed with the effort of her team.  “We took a big stride today in terms of playing within our system,” commented White.  “We were more creative today with our forwards, and it was a great team win for us today.”    
 
Concordia held a commanding 31-2 advantage in shots on the day.  Sanchez finished with two goals and two assists, while Donohoue scored one goal and had two assists in the win.  Ariel Harris picked up the win in goal for the Bulldogs.

“It was great to get the season started the right way,” said junior forward Jamie Sanchez.  “We played as a team and communicated well.  We just need to continue improving on our competitive standard as the season progresses.”  

Jordan Veness made 10 saves for York College in a losing effort. 

Concordia travels to McPherson College on September 1.

Bulldogs pick up 2-1 win over McPherson College

The Concordia University women’s soccer team picked up a 2-1 victory over McPherson College on Wednesday evening.  The Bulldogs are 2-0 on the season, while McPherson College dropped to 0-1.  

McPherson College took a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute of the first half.  Amanda Aragon scored off an assist by Haley Cook to put the host Bulldogs in front. 

With just over eight minutes remaining in the first half, Concordia’s Jamie Sanchez scored to tie the score at 1-1.  Sanchez wasn’t done, and with just 10 seconds remaining in the half, she scored again off assists by Carolyn Chrzan and Kelly Ross to give Concordia a 2-1 lead entering the halftime break.  Sanchez now has a team-high four goals on the year for the Bulldogs.  Concordia controlled play in the opening half with a 10-3 advantage in shots.

Neither team could find the net in the second half.  Concordia finished with 17 total shots (11 on goal), while McPherson College totaled nine shots (four on goal). 

Ariel Harris made three saves to pick up her second win of the season in goal for Concordia.  Sanchez totaled a game-high six shots, and Chrzan finished with four shots for the Bulldogs in the win.  Molly Whitwell made nine saves in goal for McPherson College in a losing effort. 

Concordia travels to Wayne State College on Saturday for a 3 pm contest against the Wildcats.

Concordia falls short at Wayne State College

Wayne State College held a 30-7 shot advantage and scored five goals in the first half to cruise past Concordia by the score of 5-2 on Saturday afternoon in Wayne.  Wayne State moved to 1-1 on the year with the win, while Concordia slipped to 2-1 with the loss. 

Liz Israelsen connected on a goal to give Wayne State an early 1-0 lead in the seventh minute.  Mikayla Comba added a goal for WSC less than a minute later following a corner kick to put the Wildcats in front by the score of 2-0. 

Concordia responded quickly to tie the game at 2-2.  Kelly Ross scored in the 12th minute to put the Bulldogs on the board.  Jordan Donohoue scored her second goal of the season off an assist by Hannah Denk to tie the game in the 17th minute. 

A goal by Stephanie Bright and two goals by Megan Dias put Wayne State in control heading into halftime.  Concordia managed just one shot in the second half, and the Wildcats secured the victory. 

Ariel Harris (2-1) made 10 saves but allowed the five goals to suffer her first loss of the season.  Emily Walker made three saves and allowed two goals in net for Wayne State.

Concordia hosts Benedictine College on Monday.  Action begins at 4 pm at Bulldog Stadium.

Benedictine College picks up 2-0 win over Concordia

Benedictine College picked up a 2-0 women’s soccer win over Concordia University on a windy Monday afternoon in Seward.  The visiting Ravens improved to 3-0-1 on the season with the win, while Concordia dropped its second straight to fall to 2-2 on the young season. 

Erin O’Brien scored both goals for Benedictine College on the day.  Late in the first half, she put the Ravens on top with her third goal of the season.  The score remained 1-0 until late in the second half.  Poor communication by the Bulldog defense left an open net, and O’Brien scored again for the final score of 2-0. 

The Ravens held a slim 10-8 shot advantage in the game.  The Ravens had nine shots on goal compared to six for Concordia.  Carissa Gregory made six saves to pick up the win in net for Benedictine College.  Jamie Sanchez had five shots (three on goal) for the Bulldogs offensively.  Kelly Ross added two shots, while Ariel Harris totaled seven saves for Concordia. 

The Bulldogs host Bethany College on September 11 with a 6 pm scheduled start time at Bulldog Stadium.

Concordia offense explodes in 8-1 win over Bethany College

The Concordia University women’s soccer team picked up an 8-1 victory over Bethany College on Saturday evening in Seward.  The Bulldogs improved to 3-2 on the season with the win. 

The Bulldogs jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead early in the first half on a goal by Kelly Ross.  Jamie Sanchez picked up the assist.  Concordia took a 2-0 lead on a goal by Carolyn Chrzan later in the first half.  The Bulldogs took the 2-0 lead into halftime. 

Concordia padded its lead early in the second half.  Mallorie Blanck scored off an assist by Chrzan to increase the Bulldog lead to 3-0.  Chrzan then scored her second goal of the game to push the lead to 4-0.  Less than three minutes later, Molly Humlicek scored her first goal of the season to give Concordia a 5-0 advantage.  Hannah Denk had the assist on Humlicek’s goal. 

The Bulldogs continued to pour it on.  Blanck scored her second goal on the night to push the lead to 6-0.  Denk and Sanchez had the assists.  With just under 25 minutes remaining, Ross delivered her second goal of the game to increase the Concordia lead to 7-0. 

Bethany College got on the board late in the second half.  Megan Xavier scored for the Swedes to make the score 7-1.  Concordia responded with a goal by Louisa Mehl with less than 10 minutes remaining in the game.  Kyleah Bowder picked up the assist for the Bulldogs.   

“It was nice to have a game where we connected with our teammates and had several scoring opportunities,” commented Concordia senior Carolyn Chrzan.  “We look forward to developing some consistency and realizing we have the talent to take it to the next level.”

Carolyn Chrzan’s goal late in the second half lifted the Concordia University women’s soccer team to a 2-1 win over Bellevue University on Sunday evening.  The Bulldogs improved to 4-2 on the year with the victory, while Bellevue dropped to 2-2 with the loss. 

The Bulldogs struck first in the 20th minute of the first half.  A header by Molly Humlicek following a free kick by Jamie Sanchez gave Concordia the early 1-0 advantage, and the Bulldogs took the one-goal lead into halftime. 

Bellevue University tied the game in the first minute of the second half.  Meredith Shuman scored for the Bruins to even the score at 1-1. 

With just under three minutes remaining in the game, Chrzan hit the crossbar, and the rebound was secured by Jordan Donohoue.  Donohoue sent a pass back to Chrzan, who put home the game-winning goal.

Concordia held a slim 9-8 advantage in shots on the evening, and both teams put six shots on goal.  Ariel Harris made five saves for the Bulldogs to pick up the win in net.  Ana Price made four saves for the host Bruins. 

Concordia opens GPAC play on Saturday with a home game against Northwestern College.  The matchup starts at noon at Bulldog Stadium.

Bulldogs fall in GPAC opener, 1-0

Northwestern College picked up a 1-0 women’s soccer win over Concordia on Saturday afternoon in Seward to spoil the conference opener for the Bulldogs.  The Red Raiders improved to 3-5-0 overall and 1-1 in GPAC play with the win.  Concordia slipped to 4-3-0 overall and 0-1 in the GPAC with the loss. 

Both teams totaled 14 shots in the match.  Midway through the first half, Alyssa Duren scored off an assist by Stephanie Wilcox to give the visiting Raiders the slim one-goal advantage.  Concordia had multiple opportunities to tie the game, but Northwestern goalie Ariel Watts made seven saves on the day to secure the win for the Raiders. 

Annaliese Frye and Alli Dunkelberger each had three shots to lead the way for the Raiders.  Jordan Donohoue had three shots to lead Concordia.  Bulldog goalie Ariel Harris made seven saves in a losing effort for the Bulldogs. 

Concordia travels to Dakota Wesleyan University on September 25 for a 1 pm contest against the Tigers.

Midland holds on for 2-1 victory over Concordia

Midland University held on for a 2-1 women’s soccer win over Concordia on Wednesday afternoon in Fremont.  The Warriors improved to 5-2-2 overall on the year with a 3-1 mark in the GPAC.  Concordia dropped its third straight game to fall to 4-5 overall and 0-3 in conference play. 

Molly Bolibaugh put Midland on top in the first half with a goal in the 30th minute.  Kayla Smelker had the assist on the Warriors’ first goal.  Concordia tied it up less than a minute later with a goal by Jordan Donohoue.  Donohoue’s goal followed a corner kick by Hannah Denk. 

The score remained the same until the second half.  Smelker scored the game-winner in the 64th minute for the Warriors off an assist by Nicola Hermes. 

Midland held a 17-12 shot advantage in the game.  Beth Russell made five saves in goal for the Warriors, while Ariel Harris made six saves for the Bulldogs.  Jamie Sanchez added a game-high six shots in a losing effort for Concordia. 

Concordia hosts the University of Sioux Falls on Saturday.  The game is scheduled for 6 pm at Bulldog Stadium.

Concordia University played to a 0-0 women’s soccer tie with the University of Sioux Falls on Saturday evening in Seward.  The visiting Cougars moved to 6-2-2 overall and 4-0-1 in conference play.  The Bulldogs are 4-5-1 overall and 0-3-1 in the GPAC. 

Both teams had several great opportunities throughout the game, but the goalkeeping and defense held up through the two-overtime contest.  Kelsey Van Peursem made 16 saves in goal for the Cougars, while Ariel Harris made for saves for the Bulldogs. 

Concordia held a 28-10 advantage in shots with a 16-4 advantage in shots on goal.  Jamie Sanchez had a game-high six shots to lead the way for Concordia.  Mallorie Blanck added five shots, while Kelly Ross chipped in with four shots on the night. 

Tasia Murrah had five shots to lead the University of Sioux Falls.  Megan Aanenson added a pair of shots for the Cougars. 

Concordia returns to action on October 5 with a home contest against Nebraska Wesleyan University.

Bulldogs earn first conference win, 2-0 over Nebraska Wesleyan

Concordia University picked up a 2-0 women’s soccer win over Nebraska Wesleyan on Tuesday evening in Seward.  The Bulldogs earned their first conference win of the season and improved to 5-5-1 overall and 1-3-1 in GPAC play with the victory.  Nebraska Wesleyan dropped to 8-4 overall and 3-3 in conference play with the loss. 

Concordia took a 1-0 lead early in the contest.  Jamie Sanchez delivered a pass to Jordan Donohoue who found herself one on one with the goalie.  Donohoue’s shot snuck past Wesleyan goalie Emily Dierks and hit the post.  Donohoue put home the rebound to give the Bulldogs the early advantage.  Donohoue is now tied for the team lead with four goals on the season.   

The score remained the same until the second half.  Molly Humlicek scored her third goal of the season off an assist by Donohoue to push the Bulldog lead to 2-0.  Ariel Harris and the Concordia defense held the lead, and the Bulldogs secured the conference win. 

Concordia held a 20-11 advantage in shots for the game including a 13-5 advantage in shots on goal.  Wesleyan totaled four corner kicks to just one for Concordia.  Harris made five saves to earn the win in goal for the Bulldogs.  Dierks made 11 saves for the Prairie Wolves. 

Concordia hosts Dordt College on October 9.  Game time is scheduled for 1 pm at Bulldog Stadium.

Dordt College hangs on for 3-2 win over Concordia

The Dordt College women’s soccer team earned a 3-2 victory over Concordia University on Saturday afternoon in Seward.  The Defenders improved to 9-3-1 overall and 4-2-1 in conference play with the win.  Concordia dropped to 5-6-1 overall and 1-4-1 in GPAC play with the loss. 

Concordia held a 19-8 advantage in shots in the contest.  However, Dordt College capitalized on their opportunities throughout the game.  Dordt took a 1-0 lead early in the first half on a goal by Stephanie Cooper.  Kelly Smies was credited with the assist for the Defenders. 

The Bulldogs tied the game at 1-1 midway through the first half.  Kelly Ross scored her fifth goal of the season to even things up, and the game remained tied heading into halftime. 

The Defenders jumped back on top with a goal by Noelle Kreykes.  It was Kreykes’ 10th goal of the season.  Less than four minutes later, Concordia’s Mallorie Blanck tied the score at 2-2 with a header off a corner kick by Hannah Denk.  With 15 minutes left in regulation, Morgan Rodenburgh scored the game-winning goal for Dordt College.

Concordia travels to Mount Marty College on October 16.

Concordia rolls Mount Marty, 5-0

Concordia University rolled to a 5-0 women’s soccer win over Mount Marty College on Saturday afternoon.  The Bulldogs improved to 6-6-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the GPAC with the win. 

Concordia dominated play from start to finish.  Mount Marty didn’t manage a shot in the contest, while the Bulldogs totaled 30 shots (18 on goal) in the lopsided win.  Jamie Sanchez scored two goals for Concordia.  Carolyn Chrzan, Kelly Ross and Mallorie Blanck also scored goals for Concordia.  Ariel Harris and Shelby Hughes each saw action in goal for the Bulldogs. 

Shelby Mushitz made 13 saves for Mount Marty College. 

The Bulldogs travel to Doane College on October 20.  Scheduled start time is 5 pm in Crete.

Bulldogs rally for exciting 4-3 win over Doane College

Concordia University rallied for a 4-3 women’s soccer win over Doane College on Wednesday evening in Crete.  A pair of late goals lifted the Bulldogs to the win.  Concordia improved to 7-6-1 overall and 3-4-1 in conference play with the victory.  Doane is also 7-6-1 on the year with a 4-5 mark in the GPAC following the loss. 

There was plenty of action early in the first half.  Doane quickly jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a goal by Ally Tamerius in the fifth minute.  Mia Juarez and Morgan Karloff were credited with the assists.  Tamerius struck again with her second goal of the game in the 13th minute.  Juarez was credited with her second assist, and the Bulldogs found themselves in an early 2-0 hole. 

However, less than a minute later, Jamie Sanchez scored her seventh goal of the season to cut the lead to one at 2-1.  Hannah Denk picked up the assist, her team-best seventh assist of the season.  Concordia tied it up at 2-2 with a goal by Denk in the 19th minute.  It was Denk’s first goal of the season, and the score remained 2-2 heading into halftime. 

Doane held a slim 9-8 advantage in shots in the opening half of play.  The Tigers also had five corner kicks compared to just two for the Bulldogs in the opening 45 minutes. 

The host Tigers reclaimed the lead with a goal 15 minutes into the second half.  Clare Koeppe scored off an assist by Tamerius, and Doane College held a 3-2 advantage. 

Concordia tied the game with less than 10 minutes remaining in the contest.  The Bulldogs put together a flurry of shots which were all blocked by the Doane defense.  During the action, however, Mallorie Blanck earned a penalty kick.  Blanck scored on the penalty kick opportunity, and her sixth goal of the season evened the score at 3-3. 

The Bulldogs continued to apply the pressure down the stretch in regulation and with less than three minutes remaining, Kelly Ross scored her sixth goal of the season to put Concordia on top by the score of 4-3.  Jordan Donohoue picked up the assist on the game-winning goal for the Bulldogs.  Ariel Harris made eight saves to pick up the win in goal for the Bulldogs.

Concordia travels to Morningside College on October 23 for a 6 pm contest against the Mustangs.

Big first half lifts Concordia to 3-0 win over Morningside College

The Concordia University women’s soccer team picked up its third straight win with a 3-0 victory over Morningside College on Saturday evening in Sioux City.  The Bulldogs improved to 8-6-1 overall and 4-4-1 in GPAC play.  Morningside dropped to 3-11-1 overall and 1-7-1 in GPAC play with the loss.  Concordia scored all three goals in the opening half.  The game was called at the 75-minute mark due to lightning. 

Jamie Sanchez put Concordia on top with a goal just eight minutes into the game.  Mallorie Blanck scored her seventh goal of the season in the 34th minute to increase the lead to 2-0.  Hannah Denk was credited with her team-best eighth assists of the year on Blanck’s goal.  Sanchez added another goal just a few minutes before halftime to push the lead to 3-0.  Sanchez has scored nine goals on the season to lead the team. 

Concordia held a 9-7 advantage in shots.  Both teams had two corner kicks.  Ariel Harris made two saves to pick up the win in goal.  Shelby Hughes also saw action in goal for Concordia on the night.  Felicia Reimann made three saves and allowed the three goals for Morningside.  Alyssa Reed played the final 30 minutes in net for the Mustangs. 

The Bulldogs visit Hastings College on October 26 at 5 pm.

Winning streak snapped as Bulldogs fall at Hastings College, 5-1

Hastings College picked up a decisive 5-1 women’s soccer victory over Concordia University on Tuesday evening in Hastings.  The Broncos improved to 11-4-1 overall and 9-0-1 in conference play with the win.  Concordia had its three-game winning streak snapped with the loss.  The Bulldogs are 8-7-1 overall and 4-5-1 in the GPAC. 

Hastings held a commanding 26-9 advantage in shots.  The Broncos had five corner kicks compared to just one for the Bulldogs. 

Esmeralda Lacayo scored the opening goal of the game for Hastings in the 16th minute.  A Concordia clearance attempt was blocked, and Lacayo put it away to give Hastings the early 1-0 lead. 

Jamie Sanchez, this week’s GPAC offensive player-of-the-week, scored her team-best 10th goal of the season to knot the score at 1-1 in the 28th minute.  Sanchez scored on a header following a Concordia free kick. 

Hastings created some separation late in the first half with a pair of goals by Jessica Carlson.  Jen Lerner picked up the assist on Carlson’s second goal, and the Broncos took a 3-1 lead into halftime. 

The Broncos continued to pour it on early in the second half.  Hastings scored two goals in the 53rd minute for the final score of 5-1. 

Megan Kreifelsand Tenaya Howsden combined for the win in net for the Broncos.  Ariel Harris made seven saves but allowed the five goals in goal for Concordia.  Shelby Hughes played the final 30 minutes and made three saves for the Bulldogs. 

Concordia currently sits in ninth place in the conference standings.  The Bulldogs host Briar Cliff University on Saturday.  Game time is scheduled for 6 pm at Bulldog Stadium.

Concordia cruises past Briar Cliff, 7-0

Concordia scored five goals in the first half and cruised to a 7-0 women’s soccer win over Briar Cliff on Saturday evening in Seward.  The win improved the Bulldogs to 9-7-1 overall and 5-5-1 in conference play.  Briar Cliff ended its season at 2-13 overall and 2-9 in GPAC play. 

Carolyn Chrzan (Burbank, Calif.) scored in the 15th minute to put Concordia on top 1-0.  Hannah Denk was credited with the assist.  Less than three minutes later, Jamie Sanchez (Lincoln, Neb.) found the net with her team-best 11th goal of the season to increase the lead to 2-0.  Denk again picked up the assist for the Bulldogs. 

Chrzan scored her second goal of the game in the 29th minute to increase the Concordia lead to 3-0.  It was Chrzan’s sixth goal of the year.  Mallorie Blanck (Manhattan, Kan.) put home her eighth goal of the season in the 33rd minute to push the lead to 4-0.  Kyleah Bowder (Lincoln, Neb.) picked up the assist.  Less than four minutes later, Concordia’s lead jumped to 5-0 on Molly Humlicek’s (Lincoln, Neb.) fourth goal of the season.  Bowder picked up her second assist of the game. 

The Bulldogs continued to pour it on early in the second half.  Jordan Donohoue (Manhattan, Kan.) scored her fifth goal of the season for a 6-0 Bulldog lead.  Kaela Geyer (St. Louis, Mo.) rounded out the scoring with her second goal of the season in the 58th minute.  Denk picked up her third assist of the game and now leads the team with 11 helpers on the season. 

Concordia held a commanding 28-5 shot advantage in the game.  Ariel Harris (Valley Center, Calif.) and Shelby Hughes (Columbus, Neb.) combined for the shutout.  Harris made one save, while Hughes totaled three saves for the Bulldogs.  Asia Lahn made seven saves for the visiting Chargers. 

Concordia will be the No. 8 seed in the 2010 GPAC Tournament.  The Bulldogs will travel to No. 1 Hastings College (12-4-1, 10-0-1) on November 2 for a 6 pm match against the Broncos.

Bulldogs fall to Hastings College in GPAC Quarterfinals, 3-1

Hastings College, the top seed in the GPAC Tournament, picked up a 3-1 women’s soccer win over Concordia University on Tuesday evening in Hastings.  The Broncos improved to 13-4-1 on the year and advanced to the semifinals with the win.  Concordia ended its season at 9-8-1. 

The Broncos held a commanding 14-3 advantage in shots, as Concordia’s offense struggled to apply much pressure.  Concordia’s lone goal of the game came via an own goal by Hastings.  Jamie Sanchez (Lincoln, Neb.) had the only shots of the game for the Bulldogs. 

Sara Wenzl scored in the 21st minute to give Hastings College a 1-0 advantage, and the Broncos took the 1-0 lead into halftime.  In the 67th minute, Maddie Michalek put Hastings up 2-0 with an unassisted goal.  Concordia got on the board with the own goal just over a minute later to cut the Bronco lead to one at 2-1. 

With four minutes remaining in regulation, Amanda Buttner scored for Hastings to secure the victory for the top-seeded Broncos.  Wenzl had the assist on the final goal of the game. 

Megan Kreifels made two saves and picked up the win in goal for Hastings.  Ariel Harris (Valley Center, Calif.) made three saves and allowed the three goals for Concordia

Sanchez picks up Second Team All-GPAC honors

Three Concordia University women’s soccer players received conference honors for their efforts in the 2010 season.  Jamie Sanchez was a second team All-GPAC selection, while Kelly Ross and Hannah Denk received honorable mention All-Conference recognition. 

Sanchez, a junior forward from Lincoln, started 17 games for the Bulldogs this season.  She led Concordia with 11 goals.  She was also second in assists with six on the season.  She finished with 28 total points and had three game-winning goals for the Bulldogs.  She ranked at or near the top of the conference in most offensive categories in 2010. 

Ross, a junior midfielder from Calgary, Alberta, played in all 18 games for Concordia this season.  She scored six goals in 2010 to tie for third best on the team.  She added two assists for a total of 14 points and also scored one game-winning goal for the Bulldogs. 

Denk, a senior defender for the Bulldogs, appeared in all 18 games for Concordia in her final season.  The native of Independence, Mo., led the team with 11 assists on the year.  Denk tied for first in the conference with her assist total and also scored one goal for a total of 13 points.

Concordia was 9-8-1 overall and 5-5-1 in conference play in 2010.

2010 NAIA Scholar-Athletes announced

The NAIA has announced that 446 women's soccer student-athletes have been named 2010 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.  Concordia placed six on this year’s list.  Seniors Carolyn Chrzan, Hannah Denk and Molly Millard were selected, while juniors Ariel Harris, Molly Humlicek and Mia Pauluhn also received the honor.  In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor. 
  
Chrzan (Burbank, Calif.) started all 18 games at the forward position for Concordia in her senior season, totaling six goals and three assists for 15 points.  She finished with 31 total shots, 18 shots on goal and four game-winning goals on the season.  She was third on the team in points, was tied for third in goals and first in game-winning goals.  This is the second Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete award for Chrzan. 

Denk (Independence, Mo.) appeared in all 18 games with 16 starts during her senior year.  She had one goal and a team-high 11 assists for a total of 13 points.  Denk tied for first in the GPAC with her 11 assists and was an honorable mention All-GPAC selection.  This is the also the second Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete award for Denk. 

Millard (Lincoln, Neb.) saw limited action in the 2010 season due to injury.  This is the second Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete award for Millard. 

Harris (Valley Center, Calif.) appeared in all 18 games in goal for the Bulldogs in her junior season.  She finished with a 9-8-1 record with three shutouts on the year. 

Humlicek (Lincoln, Neb.) played in 17 games with 14 starts in 2010 for the Bulldogs.  She scored four goals and totaled 17 shots (11 shots on goal) for the year. 

Pauluhn (St. Louis, Mo.) appeared in all 18 games with 16 starts as a defender for the Bulldogs in 2010. 

Concordia was 9-8-1 overall and 5-5-1 in conference play in 2010.

Sanchez named to OWH All-Nebraska Team, six other Bulldogs named as honorable mention selections

Concordia University’s Jamie Sanchez was named to the 2010 Omaha World Herald All-Nebraska NAIA women’s soccer team.  The team was released on Christmas Day.  Mallorie Blanck, Carolyn Chrzan, Hannah Denk, Jordan Donohoue, Ariel Harris and Kelly Ross were honorable mention selections for the Bulldogs.

Blanck (Manhattan, Kan.) appeared in 17 games during her junior year for the Bulldogs.  She scored eight goals and added one assist for a total of 17 points.  Blanck was second on the team in points (17) and goals (8) and was third in shots (41).

Chrzan (Burbank, Calif.) started all 18 games at the forward position for Concordia in her senior season.  She totaled six goals and three assists for 15 points.  She added four game-winning goals on the season.  Chrzan was third on the team in points, tied for third in goals and first in game-winning goals.

Denk (Independence, Mo.) appeared in all 18 games with 16 starts during her senior year for the Bulldogs.  She had one goal and a team-high 11 assists for a total of 13 points.  Denk tied for first in the GPAC with her 11 assists and was an honorable mention All-GPAC selection.

Donohoue (Manhattan, Kan.) started all 18 games in her first year for the Bulldogs.  She finished with five goals and five assists for a total of 15 points.  Donohoue also had one game-winning goal on the year. 

Harris (Valley Center, Calif.) appeared in all 18 games in goal for the Bulldogs in her junior year.  She finished with a 9-8-1 record with three shutouts on the year…Allowed 31 goals and made 82 saves.  Harris picked up shutouts against the University of Sioux Falls, Nebraska Wesleyan and Mount Marty College.  She made a season-high 10 saves twice during the 2010 season. 

Ross (Calgary, Alberta) was an honorable mention All-GPAC selection in her junior season.  She played in all 18 games with 14 starts and finished in a tie for third place on the team with six goals.  Ross also added two assists on the year for a total of 14 points. 

Concordia was 9-8-1 overall and 5-5-1 in conference play in 2010.
