Bulldogs' women's golf team places eighth at Nebraska Wesleyan Spring Invite

The Concordia University, Nebraska, women's golf team gave a strong performance in its opening spring tournament, finishing 8th of 12 teams at the Nebraska Wesleyan Spring Invite in Lincoln, Neb. on Monday, April 2. 

Junior Chelsea Peck (Lincoln, Neb.) led the Bulldogs with a combined score of 175 over two rounds.  Peck finished the tournament tied for 16th, she delivered a balanced 87 and 88 over the two days. 

The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday, April 10th in the third GPAC Qualifer.  An advantage for Concordia is that the tournament will be played at the same course the Bulldogs just played as Nebraska Wesleyan will host.  

Bulldogs' women's team finishes ninth at GPAC Qualifier #3

The Concordia University, Nebraska, women's golf team placed ninth of 11 teams at the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Qualifier #3 on Tuesday, April 10 in Lincoln, Neb. at Holmes Park.  

The GPAC Qualifier is a four-round tournament played throughout the 2011-12 season at four differing sights.  Tuesday's round in Lincoln, Neb. was the third round.  The first round was in Sioux City, iowa at The Ridge golf course on Sept. 16.  Round two was held at Fremont CC in Fremont, Neb.  The final round of action is scheduled for April 27 in Sioux City, Iowa and will be hosted by Morningside College.

Following three rounds the Bulldogs are in tenth place overall with a combined score of 1146 

Recaping Tuesday's results, Dakota Wesleyan won the round with a team score of 320, led by an even par 73 by Danielle Bellet to win the individual title. 

Juniors Chelsea Peck (Lincoln, Neb.) and Makenzie Deutschman (North Platte, Neb.) teamed with freshman Melissa McIntosh (Lincoln, Neb.) to pace the Bulldogs on Tuesday afternoon.  Peck led Concordia with an 88 (+15) to finish tied for 13th overall.  Deutschman and McIntosh both finished at 95 (+23) to tie for 35th.  

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday, April 13 as Concordia travels to Sioux City, Iowa to play in the Morningside Invite.  The ensuing day, Saturday, April 14, the Bulldogs participate in the Briar Cliff Invite.  That tournament is also in Sioux City, Iowa.

Women's Golf finish seventh at Morningside Spring Invite

The Concordia University, Nebraska, women's golf placed seventh at the Morningside Spring Invite on Friday, April 14.  Concordia finished the tournament with a combined score of 384 to finish seventh in the one day tournament.  Dakota Wesleyan won the tournament by 15 strokes with a team score of 333.

Junior Makenzie Deutschman (North Platte, Neb.) posted a team best 92 (+20) to tie for 17th place.  Fellow juniors Chelsea Peck (Lincoln, Neb.) and Madison Phillips (Woodward, Iowa) finished the day at 96 (+24) to tie for 37th.

The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, April 15 as Concordia competes in the Briar Cliff Invite in Sioux City, Iowa.

Bulldogs' women's team closes out season with sixth place finish at GPAC #4

Concordia places ninth overall in GPAC Women’s Championship

The Concordia University, Nebraska, women's golf team closed out the 2012 season with a sixth place finish at the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Tournament fourth round on Friday, April 27.  Concordia posted a team score of 401 (+113) on Friday.  Northwestern earned the team victory for the day with a 358, one shot better than Dakota Wesleyan. 

Friday's round concluded the GPAC Tournament.  Overall the Bulldogs finished ninth with a combined score of 1547 (+391).  Dakota Wesleyan was the overall GPAC Tournament Champion, with a combined score of 1348 (+192).

The GPAC Tournament is a four-round tournament played throughout the 2011-12 season at four differing sights.  The first round was in Sioux City, Iowa at The Ridge golf course on Sept. 16.  Round two was held at Fremont CC in Fremont, Neb.   The third round was played in Lincoln, Neb. on April 10, while the final round was held Friday in Sioux City, Iowa. 

Junior Chelsea Peck (Lincoln, Neb.) finished Friday's round with a team best 91 to finish in a tie for eighth place.  Peck also led the Bulldogs in the GPAC Tournament with a combined score of 354 to place ninth overall at +65.  As a top-10 finisher, Peck automatically earned All-GPAC honors, which will be officially announced later this week. 

Fellow junior Makenzie Deutschman (North Platte, Neb.) also authored a solid round, placing 22nd with a 97.  For the tournament, Deutschman delivered a combined score of 371 (+82) to finish in 15th place.

Peck and Deutschman named to All-GPAC Team

Juniors Chelsea Peck (Lincoln, Neb.) and Makenzie Deutschman (North Platte, Neb.) capped the 2011-12 season off by earning spots on the All-GPAC women's golf team on Tuesday, May 8.

Peck and Deutschman were the Bulldogs' top two performers throughout the 2011-12 season.  Peck led the Bulldogs in the GPAC Championships with a combined score of 354 to place ninth overall at +65.  Deutschman, meanwhile, delivered a combined score of 371 (+82) to finish in 15th place in the GPAC Championships. 

Five Bulldogs named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes

Five members of the Concordia University, Nebraska, golf program showed excellence in the classroom earning a spot on the 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete list, announced on Thursday, May 24.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
