Cross Country: Throughout the season Joel became stronger and improved his time ... He qualified to run in the GPAC Championships ... He ran a time of 28:34.12 and placed fourt-third ... His fastest time was 27:04.98 and was ran at the Briar Cliff Invite. Indoor: Joel ran the distance this season ... He stuck with the 5k and found success ... He reached his fastest time of 16:21.71 in the 5k at the Concordia Invite ... He also qualified for the GPAC championships in the 5k ... At the GPAC Championships he ran a time of 16:22.30.

Indoor: Joel ran the distance for his first indoor season ... He started off running the 1 mile in a time of 4:54.30 at the Holiday Inn Invite ... He then went on to run the 5k and 3k the rest of the season ... His best times were 16:38.72 and 9:51.79 respectively. Outdoor: Joel ran two events for his freshmen outdoor season…The first event was the 5000 meter run...His best race was at the Concordia Open with a time of 17:16.06…Joel also ran the 10000 meter race…His best run occurred at the Concordia Invite with a time of 34:42.71.

Was homeschooled but ran for Sioux Falls O'Gorman High School under coach Doug Lindner for three years ... Earned two varsity letters ... Was captain for one year ...
