Track and field to send 39 competitors to outdoor national championships

EVENT SCHEDULE

SEWARD, Neb. – The Concordia University track and field programs will travel a total of 39 men’s and women’s athletes (list below) to the 2014 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, held May 22-24 in Gulf Shores, Ala. The Bulldogs are set to depart by bus on Monday as they begin their trek to Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium.

Concordia’s fifth nationally-ranked men will bring 22 athletes to the national meet. Of them, 18 have previous national championships experience. They have a combined 25 career All-America honors. Senior John Cartier leads the way with five career All-America claims – all in the 4x400 meter relay.

Ranked seventh in the NAIA, the Bulldog women will take 17 competitors to the national championships. Fourteen possess national meet experience. Those 14 have a combined 29 career All-America awards. Senior Jena Schwalenberg is a six-time All-American and fellow senior Jamie Crouse earned All-America status on five occasions.
