Meineke earns GPAC award for Husker Invite performance

Concordia University senior Martha Meineke is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Track Athlete of the Week.  Meineke (Denver, Colo.) had a strong performance in last weekend’s Frank Sevigne Husker Invite. 

Meineke finished eighth in the 3,000 meter run (10:14.56) and ninth in the mile (5:07.62) at the Husker Invite.  Her times in both events currently lead the GPAC.  Both times are also NAIA national qualifying marks and NAIA top 10 times to date.  Meineke is just three seconds off the Concordia University school record in the 3,000 meter run. 

Meineke and the Bulldog track and field teams host the Concordia Indoor Invitational this Saturday (Feb. 11) at the Bulldog Fieldhouse.
