Jena Schwalenberg earns GPAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete-of-the-Week
Junior Jena Schwalenberg (Columbus, Neb.) was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athlete-of-the-Week for April 16– April 22, 2012.
Schwalenberg recorded a first place finish in the 1500m run at the Nebraska Wesleyan Invite with a time of 4:43.52 on Saturday, April 21. Schwalenberg bested 14 other runners in the event and helped lead Concordia to the team championship at the invite.
The women's team finished with a combined 162.5 points to best Wayne State by 10.5 points. University of Nebraska, Kearney was third with 115 points, followed by Nebraska Wesleyan at 109.5. Simpson College (54), Northwest Missouri State (6) and Creighton (6).
Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2011-2012 GPAC players-of-the-week and players and coaches-of-the-year awards program.
Schwalenberg and the rest of the Bulldogs outdoor track and field team are in action today at the Nebraska Mini Meet.
