Bulldogs take part in 2012 Husker Invite
The Bulldog track and field teams traveled to Lincoln over the weekend for the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite. The meet featured primarily NCAA Division I schools. Martha Meineke, John Cartier, David Eads and Ben Hinckfoot all posted top 10 finishes to lead the way for Concordia.
On the women’s side, Meineke (Denver, Colo.) finished eighth in the 3,000 (10:14.56) and ninth in the mile (5:07.62). Jena Schwalenberg (Columbus, Neb.) was 11th in the 3,000 with a time of 10:23.18.
The men’s 4x400 relay team of Cartier (Las Vegas, Nev.), Hinckfoot (Colorado Springs, Colo.), Adam Birt (Longmont, Colo.) and Eads (Bellevue, Neb.) finished sixth with a time of 3:19.47. Individually, Cartier took seventh in the 400 meter dash with a time of 48.40, while Eads was seventh in the 600 meter with a time of 1:21.68. Hinckfoot took 10th in the 600 (1:23.97). Freshman distance runner Ben Sievert (Frankenmuth, Mich.) finished 12th in the 5,000 (15:15.71) and 13th in the 3,000 (8:43.40).
