Koll’s perfect week at No. 1 singles nets GPAC weekly award

SEWARD, Neb. – Concordia senior Katelyn Koll resumed her mastery of the conference as part of a 5-0 week that helped her earn GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Wednesday. Koll also earned the same honor once during her junior campaign.

The native of Wilber, Neb., ran her singles winning streak to five after ripping through five opponents last week. Koll, now 5-1 on the season, defeated both Kara Agamaite and Juliana Bezerra of Bethany before topping conference foes in Doane’s Korey Togel, Midland’s Jordane Warkentin and Morningside’s Katie Hanson.

In her career at Concordia, Koll is 31-18 in singles play. She is 13-3 in GPAC matches since the beginning of her sophomore season.

In doubles, went 3-2 alongside partner Elyse Kohl last week. Koll and Kohl defeated doubles combos from Doane, Bethany and Midland.

Koll and the Bulldog women’s tennis team are in action today (April 1) at Bethel College in North Newton, Kan.
