Koll falls for first time in GPAC play as Northwestern shuts out Bulldogs
OMAHA, Neb. – Katelyn Koll dropped her first GPAC singles match of the year as part of a 9-0 shutout for Northwestern over the Concordia University women’s tennis team. The Red Raiders won every set in a match that was contested on a neutral court in Omaha, Neb.
The Bulldogs are now 1-12 overall and 1-5 in GPAC competition.
Koll, 5-0 in conference singles matches at No. 1 entering the day, fell 6-1, 6-3 to Frankie Eszes. Koll and doubles partner Elyse Kohl also went down at No. 1 doubles, 8-1, at the hands of Eszes and Alex Brower.
The Red Raiders (6-6, 3-1 GPAC) surrendered only two games during a dominant doubles effort. They also dropped only one game combined at the Nos. 4, 5 and 6 singles spots.
The Bulldogs will complete the 2014 season on Monday when they host Mount Marty (0-3 GPAC) at 6 p.m.
