Hodges earns GPAC Pitcher of the Week nod
Concordia University, Nebraska, freshman hurler Michael Hodges (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was named the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC)/ Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week (March 26 - April 1) on Tuesday, April 3.
Hodges allowed just one hit and one unearned run as he pitched a complete game in Concordia’s 14-1 victory over Briar Cliff on Saturday, March 31. For the game Hodges struck out eight batters and allowed just two walks. Concordia’s record now stands at 17-15 overall and 2-2 in the GPAC action.
This is second consecutive week that a Bulldog has claimed a GPAC/ Hauff Mid-America Sports award as senior Zak Goodrich was the Player-of-the-Week (March 19-25).
Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2011-2012 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hodges and the Bulldogs return to action today as Concordia host York College in a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.
