Goodrich named GPAC Player of the Week
Senior Zak Goodrich (Lutz, Fla.) was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Player-of-the-Week for March 19-25, 2012. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2011-2012 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Goodrich's contributions helped the Bulldogs defeat Valley City State University three times in the four-game series between the clubs. On the season, the Concordia University, Nebraska, baseball team is 15-11.
In the Bulldogs' four games last weekend, Goodrich was a combined 7-for-11 (.636) with two RBI and four runs scored. The leadoff hitter for Concordia, Goodrich was dominant in Concordia’s three victories, going 7-for-8 (.875). In addition to his contributions with the bat, Goodrich was hit twice and drew two walks in the four-game series, raising his on base percentage to .733.
Goodrich's biggest blow by came in the series finale as he provided the only offense with a two-run double down the right field line to lift Concordia to a 2-0 win on Sunday, March 25.
