Goodrich earns second GPAC Player of the Week award with .750 average
Behind 12-for-16 week, Goodrich enters GPAC Tournament over .400
Senior Zak Goodrich (Lutz, Fla.) is closing out his career at Concordia University, Nebraska, in style as the Bulldogs' leadoff hitter earned his second Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Player of the Week on Wednesday, May 2 for the week of April 23-April 29, 2012.
Goodrich finished the regular season going 12-for-16 at the plate for a .750 batting average. He recorded two doubles and five runs scored on the week and had a slugging percentage of .875. Goodrich was a perfect 5-5 against Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday, April 28 helping the Bulldogs to a close 6-5 victory. Goodrich now has a .402 batting average on the season and Concordia's record now stands at 25-26.
Goodrich also earned the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Player of the Week honor on March 19-25, 2012.
Led by Goodrich, the Bulldogs open play in the GPAC Tournament on Thursday, May 3 as Concordia faces Nebraska Wesleyan in a first round game at 11:30 a.m. in Lincoln, Neb. at Sherman Field.
