Record breaking Ahlers earns GPAC weekly recognition

SEWARD, Neb. – Announced Wednesday, Sept. 23, Amy Ahlers has been named the first GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports women’s golfer of the week for the 2015 fall season. The junior has broken a course record at Green Valley GC in Sioux City, Iowa and helped the Lady Bulldogs break the team record so far this season.

Ahlers is averaging a score of 77 after three events which is the lowest score for Concordia. In Omaha, Neb. at the College of Saint Mary Invitational, Ahlers placed second and helped the Bulldogs to a program record breaking score of 335.

The Albion, Neb. native has recorded scores of 75 (first place), 80-79—159 (second place), and 71-80—151 (first place) this year. Twice Ahlers has reached a score below her season best of 76 from the 2014-15 season.

The Concordia women’s golf team will be back on the course Wednesday, Sept. 30 for the GPAC Qualifier No. 1 at Two River GC in North Sioux City, S.D.
