Men's golf competes in Mount Marty Invite, finishes fifth

YANKTON, S.D. – The Concordia men’s golf team opened its season at the Mount Marty Invite Thursday, Sept. 3 in Yankton, S.D. Overall, the squad finished fifth with a team score of 308, a score of more than ten under the team average from the 2014-15 season.

Top finisher for the Bulldogs, Reid Wiebe shot a 75, three over par and tied for sixth place. Through eight holes, the Sutton native was three under par. Russell Otten, who eagled the 10th hole, finished four over with a 76 and tied for 14th place. Seeing his first collegiate action, freshman Nolan Zikas shoot five over and tied for 20th place. The team was rounded out by Matthew Otten (eight over) and Court Croghan (12 over).

Also representing the Bulldogs in Yankton were Tyler Ehresman (three over), Jared Knoepfel (eight over), Brock Colclasure (11 over), Sam Simonson (twelve over) and Garrett Suchanek (thirteen over).  

The Bulldogs will continue play tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 4 in Yankton at Hillcrest Country Club.
