SEWARD, Neb. – Former Concordia GPAC champion and All-American runner Zach Meineke paced a large field of competitors at the fifth annual Rock ‘n’ Roll St. Louis Half Marathon, held on Oct. 18. The 2010 Concordia graduate backed up a 2014 runner-up finish by placing first this time around by clocking in with a time of one hour, eight minutes and 10 seconds.

Meineke’s wife, Hannah, also a 2010 Concordia grad, also competed in St. Louis. Just 10 weeks after giving birth to a child, Hannah (maiden name Ferry) completed the race in 1:39.

The event featured more than 10,000 total runners. The scenic 13.1-mile course was lined by live bands and spectators.

While at Concordia, Meineke won GPAC individual cross country titles in 2008 and 2009. The 2009 Bulldogs captured the GPAC team title and finished runner up at the NAIA cross country national championships.
