Bulldog athletics strong heading into year 15 of the GPAC

SEWARD, Neb. – The 2014-15 athletics season will mark the 15th year of the Great Plains Athletic Conference, which formed in 2000. During the first 14 years of GPAC competition, Concordia University has routinely fielded successful athletic programs. The Bulldogs boast 22 GPAC team titles, 31 GPAC athletes of the year and 18 GPAC coach of the year awards.

Concordia won GPAC all-sports trophies in 2002-03 and 2004-05 and has never finished lower than seventh in the GPAC all-sport standings. In addition, the Bulldogs have piled up 1,020 all-time NAIA scholar-athletes – more than any GPAC school and all institutions nationally.

Concordia owns three GPAC regular-season titles apiece in the sports of women’s basketball, men’s cross country and women’s cross country. In terms of individual honors, Bulldog men’s cross country has been particularly dominant with seven GPAC runner of the year awards.
