The 13th annual Cattle Classic, held Nov. 9-10, 2012, features four men's games and four women's games.

The event, co-sponsored by Concordia and The Cattle National Bank & Trust Co., raises money and food for the Blue Valley Community Action's Food Pantry. Pac N Save of Seward will match all canned food donations.

Sunday, Nov. 4

  • Basketball Clinic for girls grades 3-5 will be held from 1-3 p.m. at the PE Building gym on the Concordia University campus. The boys camp for grades 3-5 will run from 3-5 p.m. The deadline for registration is Friday, Nov. 2.

Friday, Nov. 9

  • Women: Doane College vs. York College, 1 p.m.
  • Men: Bethel College vs. York College, 3 p.m.
  • Women: Concordia vs. Johnson & Wales University (Colo.), 6 p.m.
  • Men: Concordia vs. Kansas Wesleyan University, 8 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 10

  • Women: Doane College vs. Johnson & Wales University (Colo.), 12 p.m.
  • Men: Kansas Wesleyan University vs. York College, 2 p.m.
  • Men: Concordia vs. Bethel College, 5 p.m.
  • Women: Concordia vs. York College, 7 p.m.


Admission information

The price of admission to the games is as follows:

  • For adults
    • 10 cans or $10 for weekend pass
    • 6 cans or $6 per game
  • Concordia students
    • 6 cans or $6 for weekend pass
    • 3 cans or $2 per game
  • Children
    • 6 cans or $6 for weekend pass
    • 3 cans or $2 per game
    • (youth who participate in the basketball clinic are admitted free; also, children five and under are admitted free)

No passes.

Basketball clinic for grades 3-4-5-6

Boys and girls in grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 are invited to join us prior to the tournament for a basketball clinic at the PE Building gym on the campus of Concordia University. The clinic will be hosted by Concordia coaches and players.
  • Girls - Sunday, Nov. 4 from 1-3 p.m.
  • Boys - Sunday, Nov. 4 from 3-5 p.m.


A free clinic T-shirt and poster will be provided. Participants are also admitted free to Cattle Classic Tournament games, Nov. 9-10. 

Cost: The requested donation for each participant is six cans of food.
