Vance Winter - Head Coach

Vance Winter was named the head football coach at Concordia in December of 2008. He led the Bulldogs to a 3-7 record during his first season in 2009. 

He is the ninth head coach in the university's 80-year football history. Winter was promoted from within, having served previously on the Bulldog staff for two years as the defensive coordinator and two years as the linebackers' coach.

During his coaching career, Winter has made stops at Peru State College (defensive coordinator, linebackers 2004-05), Wayne State College (linebackers 2002-04), and Dakota State University (running backs 2000-01).

Winter was a four-year letter winner while playing middle linebacker for Dakota State University. A team captain in 1999, Winter was a two-time honorable mention all-conference linebacker for the Trojans and the team's leading tackler in 1998 and 1999.

Winter earned a bachelor's degree in physical education from Dakota State University in 2002 and a master's degree in sport management from Wayne State in 2004. Winter lives in Seward, Neb., with his wife Tanya and his son Jackson.

Ted Hall - Offensive Coordinator

Ted Hall joined the Bulldog coaching staff in January 2009.  He was co-offensive coordinator during the 2009 season, working primarily with the running game.  He enters his first season as sole offensive coordinator for the Bulldogs in 2010. 

Ted's playing career began with the Mohawks of Montevideo, Minnesota in high school. He earned several honors including All-Conference and All-Area. He then accepted a football scholarship from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion.  After 2 seasons, Ted transferred to North Dakota State University where he played on the offensive line. In 1984, Ted earned All-Conference honors and the team was runner-up for the national championship. He helped lead his team to the national championship in 1985, earning team captain, Most Valuable Lineman in Conference, All-Conference, and All-American honors for his efforts. 

Ted spent 15 years in business, beginning as a sales person in 1988. He worked his way to Regional Sales Manager for Ecolab Professional Products and is currently Director of Sales and Marketing for USA Northland Directories out of Moorhead, MN. 

Throughout Ted's business career, he stayed involved in football as a coach for Shanley High School in Fargo, North Dakota and later West Monona High School in Onawa, Iowa. He began coaching offensive line full-time in 2002 as an assistant coach for Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska. He coached the offensive line at Minnesota State University-Moorhead from 2005-2007. He spent two seasons as Run Coordinator and offensive line coach at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota before arriving at Concordia.

Ted and his wife, Sherri, have three children (Katie, Kristin, and Ted) and reside in Seward.


 Patrick Daberkow - Defensive Coordinator 

Patrick Daberkow enters his fourth year with the Bulldogs in 2010.  He spent three seasons as the secondary coach and enters his first year as defensive coordinator in 2010. 

Daberkow earned his bachelor’s degree in Education from Concordia in 2006.  He lettered all four years as a defensive back for the Bulldogs.  He was a team captain in 2006 and was named 2003 Defensive Newcomer of the Year. Daberkow is a native of Madison, Nebraska.  He resides in Seward with his wife Emly.

Steve Sirek - Tight Ends - Kicking Game 

Steve Sirek is no stranger to Bulldog football, having played and coached previously at Concordia. He has been back on the Bulldog staff since 2005. Sirek is one of two people who can say they were involved in all three of the Bulldogs’ conference championships, as he played for one and helped coach during the others.

From 1978-1981, he served as the Bulldogs offensive coordinator. He switched sides of the ball in 1982 and worked with the defense until 1987. During that time, Concordia had a .707 winning percentage. Twelve years later, Sirek again joined the staff, serving as the defensive backs and special teams coach from 1999-2002.

Sirek graduated from Concordia in 1972 with a bachelor's degree in education. He has master's degrees from both Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, Ind., and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He and his wife, Kathryn, have three children.

Ted Hall III - Defensive Line



Ted Hall III enters his second season as the defensive line coach for the Concordia University football team in 2010. 

Hall started his collegiate playing career at Northern State, where he was a two-year starter on the offensive line for the Wolves.  From there, Hall spent two years as a starting offensive lineman at Moorhead State.

Hall began his coaching career as tight ends coach and assistant offensive line coach at Northern State in 2006.  He worked with two All-Conference players and coached a Northern State offense that ranked third in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. 

Hall earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports Marketing and Administration from Northern State University.
