    National qualifying members of the Concordia track and field programs departed from Seward on Monday, bound for Johnson City, Tenn., and the 2017 indoor national championships. The 19 Bulldog qualifiers own 42 combined All-America awards.

    After falling in game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader, the Concordia softball team rebounded with a 5-3 win over Baker University to close out the weekend. Head coach Todd LaVelle's team now sits at 6-3 overall.

    While completing a four-game weekend series at Bethany College, the Bulldog baseball team fell by scores of 18-6 and 5-4 in Lindsborg, Kan., on Sunday. Concordia went 1-3 on its season-opening trip.

    Second-ranked Concordia caused more havoc on Saturday, forcing 34 turnovers in an 88-51 GPAC semifinal win over Northwestern on Saturday. Freshman Philly Lammers totaled 18 points, five rebounds and five blocks.

    Nick Little went eight strong innings and Concordia outlasted Bethany in a 12-inning, season-opening affair in Lindsborg, Kan. The Bulldogs dropped one-run decision in the capper as part of the doubleheader split.

    Gabe Poling remained perfect in singles play while leading the Concordia men's tennis team to its second victory in a row. The Bulldogs defeated Tabor College, 6-3, in Lincoln on Saturday afternoon.
