MEET CONCORDIA STUDENT
During her freshman year, Amanda Beeson went to the Students in Free Enterprise Career Fair, where she landed an internship with Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance and Financial Services in Lincoln, Nebraska. She’s also gotten opportunities to travel to a lot of different conferences, in Chicago, twice to Milwaukee and to the SIFE Nebraska Entrepreneurship Summit in Omaha, all of which gave her great chances to network.
“If you’re active in high school, there’s just as much opportunity to be active in college -- like SIFE, Student Activities Council, the [student-operated] coffee shop,” she says.
Amanda wants to start her career in business right after graduation. “I feel that I would be most successful in sales or human resources. My dream job is to own my own restaurant or bed and breakfast.”
Hobbies? I absolutely love to travel! I have had a lot of opportunities to travel through softball, work, and clubs. Concordia has continued to give me opportunities to travel such as SIFE competition in Chicago. With softball I will get to see both coasts before I graduate.
Best place to study When it warm I love to study outside with no distractions. On campus I always study in Janzow top, especially with the coffee shop close by.
Favorite food at Janzow Mac and Cheese!
Favorite movie How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days
Best thing you learned during the first year at Concordia Time management, meet as many people as possible and be active!
