By the numbers
Our graduates have begun careers in the teaching ministry, public teaching, the publishing industry, including newspapers and magazine publishing, Internet publishing, and web design, the pastoral ministry, and work in the mission field.
Our program has prepared students for graduate school success. We have sent 2 students into Ph.D. programs in communication, 2 into law schools, 3 into creative writing/English programs, and several students into the seminary programs at St. Louis and Ft. Wayne.
60% of our graduates are in a job related to their field of study, 6 months post-graduation (2010)
90% of our graduates are employed full time or in graduate programs 6 months post-graduation (2010)

What Can I Do With My Major?
English
Our English majors teach in Lutheran and public schools, teach English as a foreign language in the mission field, and secure entry-level positions in the newspaper, World Wide Web, and magazine publishing industries.
Performance Studies
Our performance studies students teach, write, publish, and work in the film and recording industries.
Writing and Rhetoric
Writing and rhetoric majors have found employment in the marketing industry, as well as teaching positions in universities and high schools. Several of our writing and rhetoric majors are also pre-seminary students.
Journalism and Public Relations
Students in the fields of journalism and public relations have joined newspaper staffs, web design firms, magazine publishing firms, and marketing firms.
Interpersonal Communication
Majors in interpersonal communication have found entry-level positions in management, and also teaching positions.
Many of our majors have gone on to graduate schools, and have done quite well.
