Tom Kelly received his Master’s degree in trumpet performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln while studying under longtime, nationally recognized UNL Professor of Trumpet and Lincoln Symphony Principal Trumpeter, Dennis Schneider.  Tom received his undergraduate degree in trumpet performance and music education at Winona State University (Winona, Minn.)  Tom has performed with the Empire Brass, Canadian Brass, Dallas Brass and Rhythm and Brass, as well as having been a member of orchestras as the lead-trumpet, backing performers such as Ray Charles, Steve Allen, Red Skelton and Ben Vereen, Michael Buble’ Gladys Knight and Maureen McGovern.  Tom is the Manager and principal trumpet in the Plymouth Brass at First-Plymouth Church in Lincoln and is also a member of the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, Omaha’s Palladium Brass Quintet, and The Omaha Brass Ensemble and also performs occasionally with the Omaha Symphony Orchestra.  Tom is also the area's top-called lead trumpeter for Broadway shows that hit the Omaha area like Wicked, Legally Blonde and Young Frankenstein.  Currently, Tom has a busy private trumpet studio in Lincoln of students age 8 through 80. Tom and his wife Angela have two children; Jonah age fifteen and Allison age eleven. This will be Tom’s 4th year as Instructor of Trumpet at Concordia University.
