Gabriel Haley joined Concordia in the fall of 2013 after previously holding an appointment as Assistant Professor of English at Concordia College, New York. He has also held teaching positions at the University of Virginia and the Evanjelické Lýceum in Bratislava, Slovakia. His teaching interests include medieval and renaissance literature and culture, classical world literature, religion and literature, lyric poetry, and writing across the curriculum. His current research efforts examine late medieval intersections of poetry and contemplative theology, particularly the secular appropriation of contemplative religious motifs within courtly lyric poetry. One essay related to this project is forthcoming in Cahiers de Recherches Médiévales et Humanistes.
Dr. Haley is the advisor of Concordia's chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, an international English honors society.
