Dr. Christopher Nichols currently performs as principal clarinet of the 312th Army Band and the Philharmonia of Greater Kansas City. He formerly served as the principal clarinet and concertmaster of the 1st Infantry Division Band at Fort Riley, Kansas with performances throughout Europe and the United States. In addition to his position at Concordia University, Nebraska, he seves on the faculty of Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lake, Michigan during the summer.

Selected performance credits include the Lincoln Municipal Band, United States Army Europe Band, the Salina Symphony, the Civic Symphony Orchestra of Boston, and solo performances with the 312th Army Band, the University of Kansas Symphony Orchestra, University Park Symphony Orchestra, and the Hays Symphony Orchestra. He has recorded for Mode Records and been published by Woodwindiana, Inc. He is in demand as a clinician and recitalist throughout the United States.
His studies included clarinet with Stephanie Zelnick, Tod Kerstetter, Ian Greitzer, Steven Barta, and Günter Voit, as well as saxophone with Kenneth Radnofsky. He has served on the faculties of the Americana Music Academy, the Ottley Music School, the Boston Arts Academy, and the Berklee College of Music Preparatory School. He is a member of the American Federation of Musicians, the International Clarinet Association, Music Teachers National Association, and the honor societies Pi Kappa Lambda and Phi Kappa Phi.
