Profile

Cassandra McMahan is a graduate of the University of Nebraska, where she received a degree in piano performance and a certificate in music education. She also attended Concordia University, where she received a master's degree in Family Life Science. McMahan is director of music at Faith Lutheran Church and School in Lincoln, where she teaches general music in preschool through grade 6 and instrumental music in grades 4 through 6. At Faith she plans services and directs three children’s choirs, an adult choir, a touring youth choir, a brass ensemble, and a string ensemble. She is a former conductor of the Lincoln Lutheran Choir.

McMahan is a frequent workshop presenter on topics related to children, worship, music, and the impact chronic illness has on families and the church. In 2009 she was nominated Educator of the Year in the Nebraska District of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.

McMahan lives in Lincoln and has three grown children: Benjamin, Daniel, and Sarah.
