Profile
Marci M. Malone has taught voice at O’Connor and Marshall High Schools in San Antonio, the Musical Arts Center in Cincinnati, and the Baker University Music Prep School in Baldwin City, Kansas. In San Antonio, 39 of her 40 students received superior ratings at the San Antonio solo/ensemble competition. In Cincinnati, many of her students were selected to compete in the overture awards, a highly selective competition; and many played leading roles in musicals, performed solos in choir concerts, and received scholarships to sing at the college level. In Kansas, Malone received the Prep School’s outstanding teacher award. While there she also served as music director of the Music Theatre for Young People of Kansas City.
Malone’s performance credits include Lady Billows in Albert Herring, Mrs. Poe in The Voyage of Edgar Allan Poe, the Witch/Mother in Hansel and Gretel, and the one-woman opera La voix humaine. She took part in the Opera Music Theatre Festival in Lucca, Italy and the Grandin Festival in Cincinnati. She has been a featured soloist in choral productions of Libby Larson’s Eleanor Roosevelt, René Clausen’s A New Creation, Fauré’s Requiem, and Schubert’s Mass in G Major.
