Program structure
Description
The Master of Science in Family Life provides lifespan family education for church workers and other professionals through advanced study of the changing trends of families. The focus of this program is on Family Life Ministry.
The current model is a 36-credit hour Family Life Ministry program with six courses being offered in a “hybrid” format with a week of face-to-face interaction followed by seven weeks of online course work. Six courses are offered on line each being eight weeks in length.
How is this program unique?
The Family Life Ministry program serves professionals who have a heart to minister with and to
families. Families have always had challenges and in today’s world those challenges are more
profound. Concordia’s program is unique because not only does it provide course work to assist twenty-first century families but also lifts up the Cross of Christ and explains how Law and Gospel must be applied to families. We bring in nationally known instructors who are working in church settings. These instructors know first hand the salve of the Gospel as it applies to families in crisis or difficulty.
