Art Department Profile

Lynn Soloway began teaching at Concordia in 1985. Her previous teaching experience includes teaching at the University of Tennessee, the University of Nebraska and at Nebraska Wesleyan University. Soloway and art department colleague William Wolfram were instrumental in building the graphic design and illustration program when it was originally housed in Founders Hall. Soloway is also a freelance illustrator and jewelry designer. She creates fine art drawings and, in her jewelry studio, produces one-of-a-kind designs under the label of Oberon Adornments for art museum shops and galleries throughout the U.S.

Other

Soloway and Dr. Bruce Creed co-direct student tours to Europe for the purpose of studying art and communication in the Western tradition. Countries visited thus far include England, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, The Czech Republic, and Hungary. Professors Soloway and Creed also have directed study tours in the United States, which include New York City and Washington, D.C.
